Problem:

A local hotel had a fleet of radios that were working well, but they still had some communications problems. The security staff was concerned that the hotel guests were often alarmed by some of the situations they overheard on the radios of nearby security personnel, and occasionally surveillance targets were alerted the same way. The enginering staff had problems dropping thir radios in awkward places and with hearing them in loud mechanical rooms. The catering staff had problems keeping batteries charged during multiple shifts, and didn't like the life of their batteries; They had managers running to various offices in search of spare batteries and chargers.

Results:

The Security Department is now able to monitor all radio traffic discreetly, as the radio speaker is attenuated and guests are unable to hear radio traffic. The engineering staff now has their radios secured in a carrying case on their belts, with speaker microphones bringing the audio closer to their ears so they are able to hear better in louder environments. The catering department now has a spare battery for each radio, all located in one area with multi-unit chargers. The employee is able to use a fresh battery when he/she changes shifts, and a BMS conditions the batteries monthly for maximum life.
