MOTOROLA SELECTS RED CLOUD, INC. AS ITS MANUFACTURER'S REPRESENTATIVE ON THE EAST BAY REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

Motorola has recently executed a contract with Alameda County, CA for the design and installation of a fully digital, P25-compliant two-way radio system. As the recipient of UASI grant moneys from the U.S. Federal Homeland Security, the County of Alameda has chosen to be the first county-wide participant in what is known as the East Bay Regional Communications System Authority (EBRCSA).

The EBRCS is initially designed to provide radio coverage throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties through a 33 site digital network. It is hoped that this system will, in the future, be the hub for the further expansion of a regional, interoperable 800 MHz public safety radio communications system throughout Northern California.

In order to support locally the process of purchase and installation of the Motorola Astro Digital equipment procured by Alameda County, Motorola, Inc. has selected Red Cloud, Inc. to be their partner for both the installation of the 33 site system infrastructure, and the individual radio subscriber unit purchasing and configuration required for full participation in the EBRCS.

In their role as a Motorola Manufacturer's Representative, the Red Cloud sales team is actively engaging Public Safety agencies throughout Alameda County and beyond on the equipment requirements for participating in the EBRCS. Red Cloud service teams are actively partnering with Motorola Engineers on the site design and system installation at each of the EBRCS network sites.

Together, Motorola and Red Cloud are ensuring the safety and improving the responsiveness of local Public Safety Officers through Motorola's proprietary digital communications technology, offering advanced features and applications beyond what current communications systems provide.
